Updates and your data

Updates

FleetFoot checks for a new version a few seconds after it starts and then every four hours. A new version downloads in the background; when it is ready, an Update button appears at the top right. Click it: FleetFoot saves your tabs and drafts, installs the new version and starts again, then tells you what is new.

To check right away, choose FleetFoot → Check for Updates…. Automatic checks can be turned off in Settings → Updates.

Every update is signed, and FleetFoot installs only updates with a valid signature.

Your data

Everything is stored in one database on your Mac:

~/Library/Application Support/dev.fleetfoot.FleetFoot/fleetfoot.db

It holds collections, environments, history (the last 1000 requests, with response bodies up to 2 MB) and the state of open tabs. Nothing is sent anywhere: FleetFoot makes network requests only when you send a request and when it checks for updates.

Next to every imported collection, folder and request FleetFoot keeps the original Postman JSON, so an export gives back everything that came in.

To back up your data, copy that file while FleetFoot is closed.

FleetFoot: everything stays on your Mac.
